結婚応援日記2008年12月18日
●優しい人。
とかく人の短所はよく目につき、ああでもない、こうでもないと噂話や悪口に花が咲きがちです。
でも、調子ずいて一緒に話したものの なぜか後味が悪いものですね。
友人で、とにかく長所を見つける達人がいます。
決してお上手や、お相手を持ち上げるために無理に言っているのではなく
自分に無いものを相手に見つけ、素直にそこを賞賛します。
だから言わるほうも警戒心なく、少し照れるものの「嬉しく」受けとめます。
こういう場に一緒にいますと、何故かこちらまで気持ちがふんわりしてきて
今まで「？」と思っていた人でも仲良くなりたいと思います。
もう一人の友人が、この達人のことを「どびっきり優しい心がある人」
「己をなくし、相手を優しく眺めることを彼はできるのよ」と言ってました。
かなわないものを持っている人に素直に敬意を称するなんて凡人にはできません。
とかく嫉妬したり、この点では自分のほうが勝っているとか、
社会的にも成功しているからそんな余裕なことを言えるんだと言いがちです。
でも、これは優しくないからだそうです。
優しければ｢素直になれる」ということでしょうね。
痛い目に何度か合ったり、思うように事が運ばず挫折を繰り返したり、競争に負けたり
気がつけば、随分意固地な性格になったもんだと、われながら嫌になることもあります。
でも幸せなことに、この達人に出会えたことにより、時々心の洗濯をしています。
力で人を影響することはできませんが「どびっきりの優しさ」は人を変えます。
彼のようにはなれないにしても、なりたい気持ちは持ち続けていこうと思います。
